Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated
“To us as mothers, [Jack and Jill] has become a means of furthering an inherent and natural desire …to bestow upon our children all the opportunities possible for a normal and graceful approach to a beautiful adulthood.”
– Marion Stubbs Thomas, Founder of Jack and Jill of America
The core of the Jack and Jill of America philosophy is that every child, if given the proper guidance and opportunity, can be developed into a leader. Leaders are made not born. It is this commitment to youth that drives the organization and the Greater Frisco Chapter.
The Power to Make a Difference.
Thank you for visiting the Greater Frisco Chapter website. I welcome you to learn about Jack and Jill and our fabulous chapter. What started as a small chapter with 28 charter members has grown to a membership of 83 mothers. In 10 years the Greater Frisco membership has more than doubled in size. Our growth mirrors the growth of the surrounding areas and our city as Frisco is one of the fastest growing cities in Texas.
As you will see on the pages of our site, Greater Frisco mothers dedicate themselves to providing our children with tremendous opportunities to learn, grow and thrive. We find success due in no small measure to the commitment each member has for our children as a collective and her willingness to share her passion with all of our families. Greater Frisco’s efforts however do not stop with the children in the chapter.
Greater Frisco mothers are prime examples of what community stewardship is all about and we instill in our children the importance of volunteer service through individual and group activities. One such example is in January where our chapter joins servant leaders across the nation by participating in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. Greater Frisco children from all grade groups make it a “day on, not a day off” by volunteering across the metroplex delivering meals to seniors and packing lunches for other children.
One of our major programs, Art of Leadership allows students in the community to join the children of Greater Frisco and other Jack and Jill chapters across North Texas to gain insight into careers across the STEM spectrum as well as the fine and visual arts. Be sure to watch these pages in February to learn more about how to register.
Volunteering and learning are just two of the ways that add to the allure of Greater Frisco. Our signature event, the Pink and Blue Ball is a fun, formal family affair where families come together for a delightful time with exceptional food and rocking entertainment. While a good time is had by all, this event is not just about fun. Proceeds from the fundraiser provide college scholarships to students who are not members of Jack and Jill.
As you can see, Greater Frisco is a multi-dimensional, hardworking chapter. Our mothers and our fathers contribute their time and talent unselfishly to ensure the very best for our children and provide opportunities for others. We diligently live the Jack and Jill motto, “Let’s work, Let’s play, Let’s live together” in all we do.
